I am Neo (Hao Qiang), just call me Neo for your convenience.
I graduated from Chia Agriculture University, and I have been teaching English for 3 years before I came here.
During my teaching period, I gradually understand the language education seems as embarrassing as it was 10 years ago, for grammar-based and examination-oriented pedagogy and also for the lack og knowledge about how to take advantage of available resources. And I hate to say that the most serious problem is that students were not taught how to think critically, but were taught to merely obey orders from teachers/parents.
I hope I can do something to help with this situation, and technology indeed plays a relevant role in the problem-resolving process, for its abundant available resources, its space-limit breaking accessing and many things.
I hope I can learn some important pedagogies that are most relevant to education in Web 2.0 environment, which can help me better integrate IT in teaching, and I hope I can learn some practical IT design relevant to education, which can allow me to develope independently some educational products.
Perhaps you may introduce some IT elements in the curriculum in your working school. To enhance students' independent thinking, programming is a good idea. Choose a suitable programming language/platform. There are visual programming languages which do not require any coding are suitable for students of lower levels.
