Session 1 Activity - Write profile of yourself and your professional interests relevant to this module and program

This is Edward Wai Yi Tang. I have got my Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems. I have been working as a teacher in schools of different levels. Before that I worked as a software programmer in a software house for a few months. Currently, I am teaching ICT in a primary
school. Apart from teaching conventional software applications such as Office, photo editing, web authoring, animation, I am interested in incorporating software of different variety in the curriculum so as to provide students with broader view of application of ICT and strengthen their rational thinking. I taught 3D modeling for S.1 students last year. In this year, I teach visual programming in P.5.

I am a member in the IT development committee in my current working school; therefore I have chances in development ICT matters in different school aspects such as providing training for teachers and parents and developing web sites for subject and functional group.

I am interested in the use of ICT to facilitate learning and teaching. Through this course, I would like to understand more comprehensively and thoroughly how IT has been being applied in learning and teaching and its impact. I would also like to understand the design and framework for applying IT in education context.
