Session 7 Activity - Consider uses of mobile technology in my working school

My working school is located in Sham Shui Po district and there are many special spots such as Golden Centre, Apliu Street, Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, etc. Teachers can design projects about these spots for students with the use of the mobile technology e.g. Aris project, Mediascapes, etc. For example, for students of junior levels, trails can be designed for students to explore. For students of senior levels, projects can be designed that students develop their own trails and produce digital products or students being reporters to introduce the districts with web 2.0 tools.

  1. I feel very jealous that your working school has so many special spots and teachers can even make use of them to design projects for student. Well, in my university in mainland, which is located in the suburb areas but with pleasing landscape, unfortunately, there is no wireless network to provide the basic condition for mobile technology. We still stay in the era of using the slow-speed broadband network on the campus, sometimes the fast-speed Intranet could be available in labs and certain rooms.
Comparatively, HKU enable both its students and those non students to use mobile technology with HKU Open Wifi anywhere on the campus. We could also download free Apps to facilitate our studies.
