Session 1 Activity - Write profile of yourself and your professional interests relevant to this module and program

My name is FAN Qingyao. I’m from Tianjin, a city in the north of China. I do not have an English name. Since “Q” is very difficult to pronounce in a Chinese name, you may call me Yao for convenience.

I finished my Bachelor Degree in 2010, major in literature study. Without too much teaching experience, to be a teacher is my expected career. I preferred the way of face-to-face teaching, because in China, many of the ways of using ICT in education is to provide ppt lessons, and teachers read the content on the screen. Students are suffering from boredom. The other extreme way of using ICT is to provide freedom for students to play with electric toys or computer games in class. How to apply digital technologies to teaching and learning effectively on a specific subject? Now, I’m so interested in this issue, and I'd like to explore further in this field. If we use ICT properly, it will be very helpful in teaching and learning.
