Strength
1. A variety of useful information for the project was given in the Project page. This is a kind of student-centered learning as students are required to
choose their own information while they go through the pages of wastes, recycle and impact. The learning theories of both cognition and constructivism are applied because students have to understand the meaning of waste, recycling and impact first and then create their own blog to describe some of the recycling facilities, activities, campaigns, local projects or exhibitions.
2. The FAQ at the bottom of Project page can help students to have a more focused cognition when compared with direct indication.
3. It is an interesting idea to have two games to assess students’ learning. (But the URL is no long valid)
4. The online discussion class in the Contact page can make students communicate more with each other and know more about other students’ learning outcome by means of their expression in the online discussion and their class and quiz results. Students will easily go to the online discussion page as they would like to know about their own results first.
5. More than one font, font size, more colour and signs were used in the Project page to allow users to get a clear picture quickly.
General weakness:
1. Too many words in all paragraphs. Students required a long time to understand many details before they can check their understanding or have reflection.
2. No button is made at the bottom of each page to go back to the top or front page.
Specific weakness:
1. No title was given to the recycling flow diagram.
2. The pull down small window next to the recycling flow diagram does not require a “click” to learn more, as indicated.
Suggestion:
1. Include more photographs next to related points, e.g. type of wastes, impact, etc., to allow better cognition.
2. More instructions are needed to ask students to create the blog. Some guiding questions can allow students to have better focus to construct their own knowledge on waste recycling.
3. Larger font size and more colour, signs and video display to attract students’ attention and then better response.
